WORSHOP: PLAYING WITH MY 5 SENSES

1^st and 2^nd year have been learning many interesting things about the importance of the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.

Como los alumnos de 1º y los de 2º de Primaria hemos estados aprendiendo muchas cosas interesantes sobre la importancia de los cinco sentidos: vista, oído, olfato, gusto y tacto.

We have decided to work together 1^st and 2^nd year  to make a workshop of the 5 senses that has consisted on the following activities:

Hemos trabajado en equipos cooperativos  los de  1º y 2º para hacer un taller de los sentidos que ha consistido en las siguientes actividades:

Smell: By the sense of smell whose organ is the nose we can tell what smells good and what smells bad. This workshop was about smelling and guessing  four common smells: alcohol, perfume, garlic and coffee.

Olfato: Mediante el sentido del olfato cuyo órgano es la nariz podemos  diferenciar lo que huele bien y los que huele mal.  Este taller consistía en diferenciar cuatro olores muy comunes: alcohol, perfume, ajo y café.

Sight: The organ of sight is the eye and through it we perceive colours, sizes and shapes. In this workshop you could group geometric figures by their colour, size or shape.

Vista: el órgano de la vista es el ojo y mediante él percibimos los colores, tamaños y las formas. En este taller podías agrupar figuras geométricas por su color, tamaño o forma.

Taste: By the sense of taste that is in our tongue we perceive the flavours: acid, sweet, salty and bitter. We have prepared different foods to classify them according to their taste.

Gusto: mediante el sentido del gusto que está en nuestra lengua percibimos los sabores: ácido, dulce, salado y amargo. Hemos preparado distintos alimentos para clasificarlos según su sabor.

Touch: This sense is found in the largest organ of our body that is the skin. Through the sense of touch we can perceive: hot, cold, hard, soft, rough, smooth, etc. This workshop consisted in two games the first one you have to classify the objects into hard or soft by touching them and the second you have to classify the objects into rough of smooth using your finger.

Tacto: este sentido se encuentra en el órgano más grande de nuestro cuerpo que es la piel. Mediante el sentido del tacto podemos reconocer la temperatura, si es duro o blando, áspero o suave. En este taller se componía de dos juegos uno de ellos consistía en clasificar objetos en duros y blandos por el tacto y el otro en ásperos o suaves pasando el dedo por encima.

Hearing: By the sense of hearing we can recognize the voice of our classmates and understand what they are saying. There are different kind of sounds: loud sounds or soft sounds. This workshop is about guessing the sound of an animal made by our classmate you have to take turns to guess, the other game consists in making a noise with a bell meanwhile your mate has to move without seeing towards the noise.

Oído: mediante este sentido podemos reconocer la voz de nuestros compañeros y comprender lo que nos dicen los demás. Hay sonidos que son suaves y otros que son fuertes. En este taller un compañero imitaba el sonido de un animal y los demás por turnos tenían que adivinarlo, luego un compañero se tapaba los ojos y tenía que seguir el sonido del timbre que tocaba otro de los compañeros.

The most important thing about this workshop has been able to collaborate with other classmates in teams and sharing all the things we have learnt about the 5 senses. I’m sure we will do this kind of activity again because it was great fun!

Lo más divertido de este taller ha sido colaborar en equipo con compañeros que normalmente no están en nuestra clase y compartir lo aprendido con ellos. Seguro que repetiremos este tipo de actividad en más ocasiones porque ha sido muy divertida.
