HUMAN BODY SYSTEMS

This term we have been learning about the human body systems: digestive system, excretory system, circulatory system, respiratory system, reproductive system, locomotor system and nervous system.

It has been a very interesting subject but very difficult to learn,  we have many organs and it is easy to confuse them.

Este trimestre hemos aprendido sobre los distintos aparatos del cuerpo humano: el aparato digestivo, el excretor, el circulatoria, el respiratorio, el reproductor, el locomotor y el nervioso. Ha sido un tema muy interesante, pero muy difícil de aprender, tenemos muchos órganos y es fácil confundirlos.

 So we have worked in groups to make it easy, each group has made a system using play-dough to make the organs and then we have label them and write the function of each system.

Así que hemos trabajado en equipos para hacerlo más fácil, cada equipo ha hecho el mural de un aparato utilizando plastilina para recrear los órganos y luego hemos hechos etiquetas con los nombres y la función de cada aparato. 

The posters are really good.  Los murales han quedado muy bien.

HALLOWEEN

The 31st of October we celebrated Halloween. It's an Anglosaxon traditional celebration. We dressed up with the most scary costumes and did different activities: we learnt about how Bristish children celebrate Halloween, also Rica told us about the celebration in USA. We learnt a Magic's Spell and acted it out in groups for the rest of our classmates, we played board games: Halloween memory, domino, haunted house, bats and cats, bingo, pin the tail to the black cat and pin the bow to the mummy. We had a wonderful time! We hope you enjoy the vídeos and photos.

El 31 de Octubre celebramos Halloween es una fiesta de origen Anglosajón. Nos vestimos con los trajes más terroríficos y realizamos distintas actividades: leímos sobre como lo celebran los niños británicos y la auxiliar Rica nos contó como lo celebran en Estados Unidos. Además aprendimos unas palabras mágicas que representamos para nuestros compañeros durante la fiesta, también jugamos a varios juegos de mesa relacionados con Halloween como un memory de cartas de monstruos, dominós, la casa encantada, murciélagos y gatos, pon la cola al gato negro o la pajarita a la momia. Lo pasamos muy bien. Esparamos os gusten las fotos y los vídeos.

HALLOWEEN EXPERIMENT: ERUPTING PUMPKIN

We've made an erupting pumpkin, it's very easy to do. First of all you have to buy a pumpkin and with the help of an adult empty the pumpkin and crave a face to make a Jack-o-lantern, when your pumpkin is finished then you are ready to do the experiment.

Hemos hecho que una calabaza erupcione, es muy fácil. Primero tienEs que comprar una calabaza y con la ayuda de un adulto vaciarla y tallar una cara para hacer una Jack-o-lantern, cuando la has terminado estarás preparado para hacer el experimento.

Materials: 
-Vinegar, baking soda, and food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
-Put a little bit of baking soda in the pumpkin (two teaspoons will do).
-Add vinegar and wait for the chemical reaction.
Result:
The vinegar that is an acid reacts with the baking soda that is an alkali and produces carbon dioxide (CO2) as an eruption that comes out of the pumpkin as it were vomit. Disgusting but fun!

Materiales: 
-Vinagre, bicarbonato sódico y colorante alimenticio (opcional)
Instrucciones: 
-Pon un poco de bicarbonato en la calabaza (2 cucharadas será suficiente)
-Añade vinagre y espera a que los ingredientes reaccionen.
Resultado: 
El vinagre que es un ácido reacciona con el bicarbonato que es una base produce una reacción química y el bicarbonato sódico se descompone en sodio, hidrógeno, carbono y oxígeno. y sale por la boca de la calabaza como si fuera vómito. ¡Asqueroso pero divertido!

SCARY SKELETONS

We're getting ready for Halloween! This week in the Art class we've made scary skeletons to decorate the classroom. We also learnt the names of some bones! Using scissors is hard work! The results were fantastic!

Hemos hecho esqueletos para decorar la clase y de paso hemos aprendido el nombre de algunos huesos. Utilizar las tijeras es un duro trabajo, pero el resultado ha sido fantástico.

HALLOWEEN DECORATION

Our corridor looks very scary is full of pumpkins, monsters, skeletons, an owl and even a ghost! This can only mean one thing, that Halloween is coming!

¡Nuestro pasillo luce muy terrorífico está lleno de calabazas, monstruos, esqueletos,un buho e incluso un fantasma! ¡Esto solo puede significar una cosa que Halloween está al llegar!

ALPHABET

It's very important to know the alphabet in English because we say the words in one way and we write it in a different way! That's how English works! If we know the alphabet we can spell the words and learn how to write them down properly.

Es muy importante conocer el abecedario en inglés porque se pronuncia de una manera y se escribe de otra. ¡Así funciona el inglés! Si aprendes el abecedario podrás deletrear las palabras y aprender a a escribirlas correctamente.

In this poster you can see that the letters have different colours, it is because the colour is the vowel with which we pronounce each letter. For example: grey /ei/ so we say /ei/ for A, /eich/ H, and so on; green /i./ so we say /bi./for B, /si:/ C , etc.; red /e/so we say /ef/ F, /el/ L, etc.; white /ai/ we say /ai/ I and /uai/ Y; yellow /ou/ so we say /ou/for O: blue /iu/ we say /quiu/ for Q and /iu/ for U; black /a:/ we say /ar/ for R. Use this poster to learn the alphabet.

En este mural aparecen las letras del alfabeto en distintos colores porque cada color contiene la vocal con  la que se pronuncia cada letra. Por ejemplo: gris en inglés es grey y se pronuncia con vocal /ei/ así que las letras grises se pronuncian /ei/ A, /eich/ H, /dzei/ J y /kei/ K. Las letras verdes suenan con la vocal /i:/ de green /bi/ B, /si/ C, /di/ D, /i/ I, /dzi/ G, /pi/ P, /ti/ T, /vi/ V. Las letras rojas suenan con la vocal /e/ de red /ef/ F, /el/ L, /em/ M, /en/ N, /es/ S, /ex/ X, /zet/ Z. Las letras blancas suenan /ai/ de white /ai/ I , /uai/ Y.
