SILK WORMS (6)
This term we have studied invertebrates in Natural Sciences. We have found out about silk worms. We have raised them with Mulberry leaves until the caterpillars have become big enough to build their cocoons.
They are very hungry and caterpillars!
They have remained in their cocoons about 2 weeks changing into moths.
This process is called metamorphosIs.
This caterpillar has become a chrysalis without silk
This video shows busy caterpillars making their cocoons
After mating the moths lay thousands of eggs.
